Eyelid surgery can treat sagging skin that hides the natural contour of the upper eyelid. Excess skin that hangs down from the upper eyelid can often impair vision. Fatty deposits are often removed from the upper and lower eyelids. The lower eyelids can be treated with an incision just below the eyelashes or with the newer transconjunctival incision that is inside the lower eyelid and avoids any visible scar. Sometimes fat grafting to the lower eyelid area and cheeks is used to enhance the results.
