The initial consultation for a breast augmentation in our office takes at least one hour. The reason for an extensive consultation is that it takes time to educate the patient about breast implant surgery. Most patients have consulted the internet prior to their visit to our office. Many have had consultations with other plastic surgeons. Some have learned about breast surgery from friends who have had augmentation mammaplasty. These charges include:

• The facility fee at St. Luke's Hospital
• St. Luke's Hospital Anesthesia charges
• The breast implants from either Mentor or Allergan
• And the surgical fee

Please note: In occasional cases the anesthesia fee may be slightly higher if additional time is required for the procedure.

We are fortunate today that over the past 30 years breast implants and techniques have evolved into improved breast procedures. During your first visit to our office extensive breast measurements will be completed. An extensive history will be recorded and photographs will be taken. We will review pre and post op pictures of our breast augmentation patients so that you will not only be able to see our results but also give us an opinion about the size that you desire. We will also discuss the type of material to be used for your breast implant as well as the anatomical location above or below the muscle and the type of incision recommended. We will send you home with material to read before your next consultation to further your understanding of the procedure.
